Montello High: School of Gangsters
by Siel Alstreim

The story evolves on the junior year of a badass and impetuous Summer Leondale who happens to be enrolled on a boarding school with a terribly bad reputation: Montello High. She didn’t thought that everything would turn upside down from a boring school year expectation to an action-filled and unfortunate series of events that threatened to ruin her life or eventually, kill her including those few important persons on her life.
She had crashed with the school gangsters, street mobs, mafia, mean bitches and all the other typical and not-so-normal teenage dilemma including friendship, family, reputations and swirls of emotions. There were those times wherein she almost lost her life and it was the mysterious, dangerous and violent Van Freniere who’s always on the scene to catch her.
The book was written in popular Tagalog and English and could be read on Wattpad.

Hopelessly Hopeless

She was trying her best to hold herself up
Trying to beat what’s pumping inside
But she knew the truth that she couldn’t
All that she could do is to touch her chest

She was forcing the world not to cry
Telling herself everything’s gonna be fine
But the world is shaking up
There’s nothing to hold on, no one

Slowly walking as she trembles
And all the hope that she once had are fading
And there’s really no place to go to
Since everything became unfamiliar, unknown

The world’s telling her not to die
But everything’s dark now
And death is simply inevitable
No words and explanation, it’s over

And then she couldn’t hold anything anymore
All the tears she’s holding fell down
Closed her eyes as her knee dropped
And embraced the darkness as she touched the ground.

Last Summer

August 29, 2011 Comments Off on Last Summer

She never touched summer as cold as this
Her room is the dark side of the bright day
This soul is still frozen, never fly away
Tough and heartless eyes that could easily break

And then stepping out waging war to the sun
All the walls she’s built had melted its strength
That warmth seemed to laugh on her pale skin
Cause for an old-fashioned sense, she’s too out of season

Then she met him playing with the breeze of the sea
A pen for a tale of Poseidon’s Prince emerging from the blue
Wondering if those captivating smile had enchanted mermaids
And those dark eyes tell the depth of aquatic beauty

His long brown hair falling so soft mocking the waves
A cool guy on a gentleman’s heart
Those tiny sands are sugar on her feet
But she’s no swimmer fearing endlessness

But then he’s disgustingly friendly to her
Gave him her trust and enjoyed the splash
Sharing old stories, laughing the vintage of it
And then she got his heart. Yes, shouldn’t be that way

For she never wanted anyone to fall for her
Cause she’s selfish, sarcastic and a ruthless girl
And then she had to leave telling him how sweet her summer is
And he smiled kindly for her sad goodbye

But the waited for her in painful whole year
And she returned, changed and still heartless
She ruthlessly grabbed his awful hope out of him
Leaving him hopeful or not is a crime, he’s still the victim

After how she ended the story, he refused to paint the dot
But the girl is such an evil watching him miserably
For she thought it’s not how he adored him that counts
It’s what she’d put on the horizon and he’s just some crossroads

Few more years and she got everything she wanted
Sweet and bitter past are always something to turn her back
Knowing she’d check all the list, still felt something missing
Drove back on the old road, some dust and picturesque scenes

Nothing had changed, it’s only people’s heart
And she’d met him again, still wearing bright smiles
Like a once in a lifetime she’d finally returned it,too
And surprisingly obliged to return his wife’s smiles too. 😦

Toy Convention 2011 at Megatrade Hall 1, 2 and 3

Cosplaying as Princess Resurrection (yeah! that’s me, Shiela May Familaran) together with my friend Mayu Alapan as Gothic Girl, my sister Michelle Familaran as Honami Takase of Rental Magica (which people who took pictures seemed to be unfamiliar with the character and called her ‘Witch’ or ‘Harry Potter’, haha! Oh, well I experienced the same thing someone called me ‘Sailor Moon’ (really, I’m not on piggy tails) and ‘Misa’ (haha. I got my hair long and not on piggy tails, too), Michelle’s classmate Fely Tilad as Taiga of Tora Dora and my cousin Mary Ann Fabito, we attended on the First Day of the 10th Toy Convention. The Megatrade Hall 1, 2, and 3 seemed to transformed into a different world: Full of toys, cosplayers, otakus, collectors, photographers, and the other ones who were present in there. We also took pictures with other amazing cosplayers and wondered if they’d also experienced some annoying struggles with the janitress on the comfort room. Haha! Oh, well, I’m not actually holding a grudge.

Really, Toy Convention 2011 was a blast! It had more attendees compared to the last year’s and pretty Alodia and Ashley Gosiengfaiao were also there. I just didn’t get a closer and better look of them because of the wig-and-costume-ruining populace. And some wardrobes which are used in Harry Potter were also exhibited in there. I wasn’t able to explore the whole place cause it was just like I’m gonna bump into someone with every step I’d take so I decided to stay and have pictures outside. And to point some little failure of me, I wasn’t able to see Mr. JayEm Sison again… uh! Gray Fulluster. haha.

We went here last May 28, 2011 and I really had fun. Well, it was actually my first time being there since I studied my high school days in my province. I used that ride-all-you-can ticket and turned it into awesome moments. Well, those Space Shuttle and Anchor’s Away rides really made me scream!!! 🙂
